The nike Cortez – Stranger Things (Hawkins High) launched nearly a year ago in June 2019. Nike has a great collaboration with the sci-fi hit Stranger Things. Nike has released a total of 10 Stranger Things shoes, and the Cortez is one of them.
This is great news for fans of the series, but also for collectors of the trainer who are interested in special boxes with nifty extras. The trainer comes in a green box with the Hawkins logo on it. The shoes were wrapped in Stranger-related newspapers (Hawkins Post) and had three special pins affixed to the shoes.

Unfortunately, every shoe in this collection has the same box, paper and pins. In my case it was a missed opportunity as it would drive me to buy more of the other two shoes (Blazers and Tailwinds).

When the shoes came out, they were sold out immediately. However, replenishment after replenishment ensues, making this shoe readily available and not interesting in terms of resale price.

The Cortez is an important shoe for Nike, and it’s always nice when new colorways come out. The first Cortez was released exclusively for the 1972 Olympics. Unique to this shoe is the large Swoosh. Also, in the model of Stranger Things (Hawkins High), the green Swoosh is very present. The material is fine, but the shoe is very sensitive to creases. The shoe has a Hawkins High logo on the heel which makes the shoe look unique.
All in all, the Nike Cortez – Stranger Things (Hawkins High) is a great shoe, a great shoe for summer, … but nothing more than that.
