Nike Air Max 1 – Watermelon launched in 2018. Most Sneakerheads can appreciate this version, but the shoe was never hyped. Now that we are two years old, this is one of my favorite training shoes for summer.
Unfortunately, I (@basnijmegen) couldn’t get these shoes in 2018, and in 2019 I was able to get them for a decent price. Unfortunately there are no OG boxes, but ach…., I buy them to rock after all.
Nike Air Max 1 – Watermelon
The Air Max 1 is one of Nike’s most iconic shoes. On March 26, 1987, the first AM1 was launched. Tinker-Hatfield’s design was a huge success, and multiple Air Max variants followed. So, 31 years after the original release of the Air Max 1, the watermelon shoe appeared on the market.

Air Max 1 – Watermelon looks super fresh. A white/grey upper with a pink swoosh makes it an ideal summer shoe with light green fenders. In fact, green is back in the eyecups and air pockets (foam), making this shoe look super clean. I think this is one of the best Air Max 1s this summer.
I think Nike could have done more with this shoe, something extra. Colorful decoupage, a watermelon hang tag or special box. This would have been the most suitable shoe.
